Watch our September Information session for EU Citizens: Children of parents with EU Settlement Scheme status
If you are an EU citizen with children in the UK, navigating whether your children need their own EU Settlement Scheme status can be complex. A recent IMA survey found that many EU citizens with EU Settlement Scheme status had not applied for status for their children because they did not know it was needed or were unsure how to do it.
Knowing if your child needs to apply and how they apply can be confusing as it depends on several factors, including their place of birth and each parent’s immigration status. To help make this topic more understandable, we covered it in our October Information Session for EU citizens.
These Information sessions are hosted every month on Facebook and cover a relevant topic about EU citizens in the UK and the EU settlement scheme. The sessions are delivered by and immigration lawyer and during the session you have the chance to share questions directly with an immigration lawyer.
If you are looking for information about applying to the EU Settlement Scheme for your child, you can now watch and re-watched the session on our YouTube channel.
During this session an immigration lawyer will guide you through:
• Children born in the UK
• Children born outside the UK
• The process and deadline for applying to the EUSS
• What to do if there’s a delay getting a passport or ID for newborns
• Which children are already British citizens (and don’t need to apply)
To watch and ask any questions live, join the next Information session on 19 November 2025 on our Facebook page. The event will be on our Facebook page EU in the UK.
