In the run up to the holidays many EU citizens and their families will be planning trips abroad to celebrate. To make sure you are informed about the rules for EU citizens when travelling in-and-out of the UK, we covered this topic in our November Live Session.
Understanding the travel rules are especially important with the new Electronic Travel Authorisations (ETA) implemented this year which requires visitors to hold a permission before travelling to the UK. That means family members visiting you in the UK will be required to apply and receive an ETA unless they hold another immigration status in the UK. EUSS status holders should also ensure that all their ID documents are up to date on their UKVI account before travelling.
These Information sessions are hosted every month on Facebook and cover a relevant topic about EU citizens in the UK and the EU settlement scheme. The sessions are delivered by and immigration lawyer and during the session you have the chance to share questions directly with an immigration lawyer.
If you are looking for information about the rules for travelling in-and-out of the UK, you can now watch and re-watch the session on our YouTube channel.
During this session an immigration lawyer will guide you through:
• Travel rules for people with pre-settled or settled status
• Update on travelling with a Certificate of Application
• What to know about Electronic Travel Authorisations (ETA)
• Travelling using a National ID card in 2026
• How to use and update your UKVI account with new ID documents
To watch and ask any questions live, join the next Information session on 17 December 2025 on our Facebook page. The event will be on our Facebook page EU in the UK.
